Posting Is Not Marketing

Posting content permanently can increase your follower base and "Likes" of your business profiles, but it does not necessarily increase sales and customer base.

Digital marketing is associated with the publication of valuable content, which convinces your audience that you are an expert in the service you offer or that the product you sell is the most convenient to solve a need.

Valuable content that tells stories and builds a narrative around your brand, and your activity, generating interest and expectation for what you do. I have seen companies posting material similar to classified ads two, or three times a week, even every day, convinced that visibility is the most essential thing, prioritizing quantity over quality.

Social networks are essential in a Digital Marketing strategy, especially to attract prospects through this valuable content. Basically, it has these three components:

Typically involves a variety of tactics, such as advertising, search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing, to encourage them to provide their contact information or even express interest by contacting you directly. The lead generation goal is to build a list or database of potential customers who can be converted in future customers.

Nurturing Leads

In digital marketing, Nurturing Leads is to keep potential customers who have expressed interest in a company’s products or services. The goal is to move potential customers through the sales funnel, giving them the information they need to make a buying decision.

Usually involves the use of a variety of tactics, such as email marketing, targeted advertising and content marketing, timely information about discounts and promotions, building a relationship with the potential customer and increasing the chances of conversion.
Lead conversion

It is the next step and the reason of nurturing, a potential customer into a real paying customer conversion. Lead conversion, can occur through channels variety, such as email, phone, or in-person sales calls, and may involve using marketing automation tools to streamline the process. The goal of a lead conversion is to make sales, increase revenue, and drive business growth.

That is why posting alone is not Marketing. Social networks are part of a system that complements the website, direct mail, implementation, CRM tools that may sound complicated for a startup or a small business but accessible. Some of them free and are there for the taking and take advantage of them.
